Amazon Expands Mesa Footprint with $71 Million Warehouse Acquisition

Amazon has made a major investment in Mesa, Arizona, purchasing two sprawling warehouses near Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport for $71 million.

Spanning over 1 million square feet at Gateway Grand industrial park, these new facilities, developed by Greystar Real Estate Partners, will strengthen Amazon’s logistics and same-day delivery services throughout the region.

This move closely follows Amazon’s 2023 opening of a 1.2 million-square-foot storage and distribution center at 8560 E. Elliot Road — the company’s largest in the nation — which employs 800 people, ramping up to 1,300 in peak periods.

Additionally, a 200,000-square-foot Chandler facility has been operated since 2020, highlighting a strategic focus on regional efficiency and rapid order fulfillment.

Mesa’s robust industrial growth is further fueled as over 17.5 million square feet of new spaces have risen around the airport, with 1.5 million more under construction.

Amazon’s expansion in Mesa not only boosts operational capacity but also powers local job creation and economic momentum.
